About Us:
The North Shore Health Network provides rural healthcare for communities along the north shore of Lake Huron – including services in Blind River, Thessalon and Richards Landing. The North Shore Health Network sites have been serving their communities faithfully for many years providing emergency, acute, complex continuing care, long term care and community support services.
The Role:
At the Northshore Health Network (NSHN) the Clinical Quality & Risk Specialist/ Patient Relations Officer provides strategic leadership and expertise for the advancement of high quality, safe, innovative care by fostering patient, family and provider engagement in creating a culture of exceptional Quality and patient safety. With expertise in the development of quality, quality improvement, patient safety, patient engagement, health equity, truth and reconciliation and experience with patient safety engagement and approaches, the Clinical Quality & Risk Specialist/ Patient Relations Officer will advance the performance and experience of patients/ residents/ clients, staff, front line clinical staff and healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
- Possess a university degree in Health Sciences, Health or Business Administration or related field or a combination of relevant/related education and employment experience.
Assets:
- Project management certification, designation or related employment experience.
- Experience with the creation and maintenance of a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and related Action Plans.
- Experience with Quality Ontario Standards, indicators and measurement for Hospital Patient Safety
- Experience with meeting Accreditation Canada Standards, the Accreditation process as a whole, including effective and efficient navigation of the OnBoard Qi platform
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking and consultation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with management, leadership teams, internal and external stakeholders.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Online Survey Modules
· Effective communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
