ELARTA is recruiting on behalf of a client in timber and lumber products manufacturing. The CNC Manager is responsible for leading the CNC Programming and Operator Team. The CNC Manager will oversee all CNC machines and programming tasks to improve the efficiency of production as well as the quality of finished products. This individual will assist, train and mentor all operators and programmers, ensuring the team is up to date and self-sufficient. The CNC Manager will also oversee corrections of malfunctions or irregularities and adjust procedures as required to ensure quality of production is maintained.
Responsibilities:
· Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations; in collaboration with the Safety Department
· initiating corrective actions
· Continuously develop and update written operating procedures for all critical tasks within the operation. Ensure the workforce is adequately trained, and aware of their level of responsibility. Hold people accountable when required.
· Maintain regular department meetings;
· Lead the CNC Programming and Operator Team
· Responsible for all CNC machines
· Overseeing programming tasks
· Troubleshoot and diagnose common CNC problems with team and consult with manufacturer as necessary.
· Maintain CNC programming schedule
· Quality Control on CLT and glulam parts and adjust tooling parameters accordingly
· Selecting new equipment and tooling
· Organizing repair and machine servicing together with Maintenance Team
· Assisting operators with set up of jobs on machines, but ultimately training and mentoring operators to be self-sufficient.
· Ensuring that the CNC team remains up to date with mandatory training
· Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
· Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams to identify areas of inefficiency.
· Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with provincial and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
· Other duties as required.
Requirements:
· Post-secondary diploma or certification in a related field preferred.
· Completion of an apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in machining.
· CNC Machinist certification preferred.
· 5 or more years' experience in CNC experience in timber manufacturing setting considered an asset.
- Experience with Hundegger CNC-machines and Biesse CNC-machines is preferred
- Ability to use CAM software “Cambium” and “DDX” is preferred
- Good MS Excel and MS Word skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Ability to operate Hundegger CNC machines
- Good technical understanding of Hundegger CNC-machines
- Good communication skills

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
