Commercial Vehicle Safety and Compliance Coordinator

The Commercial Vehicle Safety and Compliance Coordinator will develop and implement programs and policies to address fleet maintenance and safety, driver safety, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

· Conduct driver evaluations

· Coordinate and perform safety training, relating to driver and vehicle compliance such as logbooks, trip inspections, load securements, etc.

· Develop and implement programs, policies and procedures that address fleet maintenance and safety, driver training, and ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations.

· Ensure policies and standards are met to ensure compliance with Canadian and US federal and provincial regulations

· Ensure driver and vehicles files are up to date and properly maintained

· Ensure correct maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and trailers has been accomplished, and by approved shops

· Monitor and review driver records/abstracts

· Track vehicle and trailer servicing, maintenance, repair and certification using suitable software programs.

· Ensure all trucks and trailers have the proper documents, authorities, permits, and plates; and ensuring the fleet ‘binder’ is kept current

· Liaise with MTO regarding compliance, audits, and follow up

· Service and repair trucks when required, various forms of maintenance

· Perform seasonal driving duties as required, AZ licence required

· Be willing to travel in Canada and the US for extended periods, as a driver/operator and work remotely, if required.

· Be willing to work with chemicals, if required.

· Mechanic Certification an asset

· Air Brake Servicing Certification an asset

· High organizational skills an asset.

Salary $60,000-$80,000
