SalaryThe Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) is seeking a flexible, innovative Communications and Marketing professional to join the Communications branch as a Communications and Marketing Manager.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, you will deliver strategic communications services for both internal and external stakeholders, and develop and execute communications plans in support of the SATCC’s five-year strategic plan and annual business plan.
Responsibilities:
- Manage strategic communications projects to ensure materials are effective, professional and prepared on time and on budget;
- Research and write a variety of communications materials, such as communications plans, speaking notes, articles, key messages, Qs and As, media lines and website copy;
- Provide strategic communications advice to colleagues and members of the SATCC’s Senior Management Team;
- Work closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing on the development of the SATCC’s annual marketing and communications plan;
- Manage the production of Communications and Marketing/advertising materials, liaise and provide direction to agency of record and suppliers, to ensure materials are effective, appropriate and align with the SATCC’s brand;
- Develop and execute the fundraising plan for the SATCC’s annual Apprenticeship Celebration Dinner;
- Plan and execute the SATCC’s annual Apprenticeship Celebration Dinner, the organization’s largest annual event celebrating achievement within the apprenticeship and certification system; and
- Back-up the Director of Communications and Marketing when they are absent.
Qualifications:
- At least three years’ experience in increasingly senior communications/marketing or equivalent roles;
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications; Marketing; English; Journalism; Public Relations or a related field; and
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

The SATCC performs four main roles: we train apprentices; certify apprentices and tradespeople; regulate the apprenticeship system of training; and promote apprenticeship as a way for employers to meet their labour market requirements. The SATCC also represents Saskatchewan on interprovincial initiatives. Our vision is the most skilled and representative workforce, industry trained and certified. Our mandate is to develop, promote, and administer a relevant, accessible and responsive apprenticeship training and certification system to meet the needs of employers, workers and the public.
