Core Responsibilities:
Organizer We are looking for an ultra-organized individual who can manage communications projects from start to finish, including initiating, creating and documenting communications strategies, work-back schedules and media buys.
Writer and Editor This involves creating content for presentations, press releases, annual report, monthly e-newsletters and social media plans, writing cross-platform content and brainstorming ideas for farmer-focused campaigns.
Collaborator Working together with our staff team, you will help ensure that SaskBarleys vision and mission are realized. These responsibilities will include:
Managing SaskBarleys sponsorships, events, outreach and extension programs
Managing the development of semi-annual print magazine
Managing media requests and development of key messages for board and staff
Liaising with our contractor partners on graphic design and digital media projects
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, marketing or agriculture
Experience in a variety of communications functions (news releases, newsletters, social media and website management)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
Dedication with a strong consistent work ethic and commitment to success
Ability to travel within Canada
At least 2 years of professional communications experience
*An agricultural background is an asset for this opportunity.
Work environment:
We are a hybrid-remote office with a location in Saskatoon, SK. Flexible work conditions are available as needed. Preference will be given to applicants in SK
