Community Development Coordinator

Position Summary

Reporting to Executive Director of Sanctuary House, the Community Development Coordinator will work with community stakeholders and networks to support the implementation of community-based specialized Sexual Violence services. Using a survivor-centered, trauma-informed community model, activities will involve the identification of needs, issues, resources and gaps relating to the support of adults of all genders affected by Sexual Violence and the prevention of Sexual Violence.

This is a fulltime, term position subject to funding, job performance and meeting minimum qualifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

· Actively seek opportunities to collaborate with service providers and networks also working in the sector

· Collaborate with other community organizations, government partners, and networks and seek opportunities for growth and new initiatives

· Develop and implement a plan for new Sexual Violence services

· Complete evaluation and other reports as required

· Perform other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

· Knowledge of gender-based violence, particularly Sexual Violence; feminist principles and a demonstrated commitment to the eradication of gender-based violence.

· Extensive knowledge and experience in Sexual Violence prevention, interventions, education, policy, and research is desired

· Written and spoken competence in French and English is required

· Commitment to the vision, mission, goals and objectives of Sanctuary House

· Excellent networking skills and demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with community members and organizations

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizing skills

· Excellent analytic, research and problem-solving skills

· Experience in an office environment and using office technology.

· Experience using social media

· Self-directed, takes initiative, creative and adaptable; able to work in a team and independently

· Possesses a current Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check

Renumeration

Annual salary – $62,000 plus benefits, depending on demonstrated experience and qualifications.
