Dates will vary. Must be available on event days including event day weekends.
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers for nonprofit events at the Badlands Amphitheatre. Working closely with event planning teams, the Volunteer Coordinator ensures that all volunteer needs are met, and that volunteers have a positive and meaningful experience working with the organization while serving the Badlands Amphitheatre guests.
The Volunteer Coordinator also manages Front-of-House guest operations on event days working closely with the volunteers, the Revenue Coordinator (Concession, Pub & Merch), Box Office, and Production Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in volunteer management and/or event planning
- Experience in the arts, culture, and tourism sector is an advantage
- University Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as consensus-building and communication skills for working with mixed teams of contractors, employees, sponsors, and volunteers
- Excellent written communication skills with a keen sense of attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication with an emphasis on clear communication
- Demonstrated time management skills in a deadline-oriented environment
- Comfortable in online environments and online meetings
- Experience with Google Suite and project management software (Teamwork) is an asset (training provided)
PRIORITIES:
- Manage volunteer recruitment, registration and scheduling
- Provide training to volunteers prior to the event in all areas
- Manage volunteers during the event, including assigning tasks, answering questions, and providing support as needed
- Work with contract employees who will be helping with Front-of-House Guest services.
- Collect feedback from volunteers and make recommendations for improvements
- Maintain volunteer records and ensure that volunteers receive recognition for their contributions
- Collaborate with other staff members and volunteers to ensure that the event runs smoothly and meets its goals
- Communicates with volunteers in a clear manner
- Complete event reporting after each event day
- Work with the Production Manager on event days as the Front-of-House Guest position
- Ensure service excellence standards for guest experiences
COMPENSATION:
Note: This is a CSJ (Canada Summer Jobs) funded position and is available only for a youth who is a CanadianCitizens, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration andRefugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; has a valid SIN (Social Insurance Number) at the start of employment; and who is between 15-30 at the start of the program.
