Drumheller & District Humane Society is on the hunt for an experienced Fund Development Coordinator to develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure financial support for the organization's programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have non-profit Fund Development experience and a passion for helping animals in need. There is potential for this position to be done remotely and the hours are flexible. Volunteer Contributions: DDHS could not operate without the help of our volunteers. With only 2 paid staff members we rely on the assistance of volunteers to care for the animals that need our help. Volunteers enhance the quality of life of our animals in care.
Responsibilities:
- Create and foster relationships with local businesses, corporate sponsors, foundations and individual donors
- Search for and apply for grants
- Research and identify potential donors
- Organize fundraising campaigns
- Create and manage a legacy campaign
- Develop and implement a donor recognition program
- Take on special projects or initiatives assigned by the President or the board
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Be committed, engaged and willing to invest the necessary time and effort to fulfill the duties required
- Be interested in the care of surrendered, neglected, abandoned, and abused animals
- Have good communication skills, work with others in a professional and respectful manner
- Must have previous Fund Development experience
Time Commitment: 3-8 hours per week
Location: Drumheller Alberta. This position can also be remote
