ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a passionate individual who is a natural advocate for the Town of Fox Creek. Our community is in a unique situation where growth and new opportunities are here for the taking. The successful candidate in this role will not only providing clear messaging and communication in all things regarding the community, but also work with various levels of stakeholders in order to develop existing and attract new businesses. We are seeking someone with creativity to engage and provide messaging in new and unique ways that are meaningful and informative. We know the Town of Fox Creek is a great place to live, work and play, and we are looking for a new member to add to our dedicated team in this pivotal role to help push the community forward.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

May be required to adhere to processes and policies in support of Municipal goals and legislative requirements.

  • Connect with local business community to support, encourage and advise local businesses
  • Prepare strategic plans and carry out Economic Development initiatives by identifying and promoting new opportunities
  • Act as a liaison between municipal council, Economic Development committees & community
  • Market the community to existing or potential investors
  • Develop, edit and update communications materials such as publications, videos, letters, statements, speeches, new releases, advertisement, advisories, Q&As, digital web and internet content, social media posts etc.
  • Build public understanding of the Town’s initiatives and services by coordinating communication initiatives, programs & events
  • Champion, manage and monitor the use of all forms of communication
  • Represent the Town of Fox Creek effectively in meetings with government agencies, community groups, boards and commissions and the public building consensus amongst participants
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Minimum Requirements

  • Post secondary education in a relevant field, or relevant work experience
  • Clean Criminal Record Check
  • Acceptable Driver’s Abstract
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications

Additional Requirements

  • Applicable certifications related to the responsibilities outlined
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Municipal experience will be given a preference
  • Build, foster, and sustain a positive public image

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

WHEN WILL YOU BE WORKING

Contract Full Time - 35 hours/week

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Thursday - 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Friday - 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Some evenings and weekends as required
