We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Coordinatorto join our team! This full-time 1 yr term contract will report to the Development Officer and play a key role in contributing to our growth and outreach efforts. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator helps the team achieve growth through new donor acquisition and brand awareness.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will play a key role in the evolution of the Foundation’s marketing activities in key areas such as direct mail, email marketing, advertising, and market-level initiatives. A main responsibility of this role is to project manage core direct response activities and manage the maintenance of the Foundation’s brand.
In 2022/23, over $2,033,607.00 was raised to support our hospital, including gifts from over 4901 donors. Since 1988, the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation has raised more than $40 million to benefit healthcare in our community.
The Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH) works in partnership with Alberta Health Services to enable donations to every area of care at Chinook Regional Hospital and the programs it offers in Southern Alberta. As Chinook Regional Hospital’s charitable partner, we raise donations for medical equipment, programs, special projects and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in developing targeted communications concepts that reflect the Foundation’s brand and voice for campaigns and projects.
- Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms.
- Monitor and respond to social media interactions to enhance audience engagement.
- As the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of this mission, crafting compelling stories and driving impactful communications. Builds on existing and develops branding for campaigns and initiatives that will inspire the community.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Producing a range of fundraising, stewardship and marketing material, with prior experience in healthcare philanthropy or similar sector.
- Enhances brand awareness and consistency through collaboration, creation and style development.
- Assist in the development of marketing materials, including blog posts, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels.
- Strategizes advertising campaigns; operationalizes through planning, creation, metrics analysis and budget oversight.
- In collaboration with the Development Team, designs and implements email marketing campaigns; oversees the email calendar; evaluates and reports on email performance.
- Acts as project manager and designer for the direct mail program, leading production schedules and layouts for mailings and newsletters.

- Acts as the subject matter expert on marketing optimization, industry policies and best practices.
- Support the implementation of digital marketing campaigns, including online advertising and email marketing that reflects the Foundation’s brand and voice for campaigns and projects.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize the organization's website for better visibility and user experience.
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing marketing performance metrics.
- Contribute to the preparation of regular reports on marketing activities.
- Acts as the main liaison for vendors, including advertisers and mailhouse.
- Supports the communication of the Foundation’s promotion and recognition activities, creating content for event promotion and recognition.
- Work closely with the team to coordinate and promote events, both virtual and in-person.
- Assist in the creation and execution of event marketing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in marketing or advertising or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience (internship or coursework) in marketing or communications.
- Capable of producing a range of impact reports, proposals, social media and web content, event communications, cases for support, brochures, advertisements, letters, speaking remarks and other marketing materials.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with social media platforms, video editing software and digital marketing tools. MailChimp is considered an asset.
- Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with CMS is a requirement; WordPress is considered an asset.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn with a positive attitude.
- Experience with email marketing systems is a requirement.
- High regard for privacy and confidentiality of business information.
- Able to manage competing priorities and take the initiative.
- A strong designer and brand manager.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
- Clear Police Information Check
Flexible work arrangements may be available including a combination of in-office and at-home work. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
Salary range is $45,000 - $60,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package including:
