Summary of position
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting communications for Calgary and area Primary Care Networks as a member of the Calgary Zone Business Unit. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and efficient operation of the Specialist Link website, which includes updating the website and supporting the development of care pathways, as well as the implementation of the Calgary Zone communication strategy and/or action plan.
Responsibilities:
Key aspects of the position may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the development of clinical care and access pathways and algorithms, which help physicians to manage patients in the community
- Managing the operation of the Specialist Link website on behalf of the Calgary Zone Business Unit, which includes using the website content management system, posting and updating content and writing articles, as needed
- Collaborating with the Business Unit and PCN communicators on shared projects
- Proofreading and editing content including newsletters and social media posts
- Providing general communications support to the Calgary Zone Business Unit, as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong graphic design skills, with a thorough working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat
- Attention to detail
- Writing/editing skills for a variety of media, including print and web
- Independent and self-driven with proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Familiarity with website Content Management Systems (CMS); basic knowledge of HTML an asset
Qualifications
- Degree in communications, journalism, graphic design or equivalent field
- Minimum two years’ progressive communications experience
- Membership with IABC or CPRS considered an asset

- Completion of a satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search
