Overview:
We are seeking a skilled End User Technical Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IT support or have completed a College IT Diploma program. This role will primarily involve providing on-site and remote technical support to end users, working closely with our End User Services Team.
Responsibilities:
- Build and image notebooks/desktops according to specific work instructions.
- Manage hardware inventory, including receiving hardware and conducting stock counts.
- Prepare equipment for deployment or retirement, which may involve formatting hard drives, sorting stock, and testing older equipment.
- Deploy new end user hardware such as laptops, desktops, and accessories.
- Provide support for various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and MacBook (iOS).
- Troubleshoot hardware and operating system issues efficiently, utilizing a ticket-based system.
- Interact with end users in a professional and courteous manner.
- Adapt quickly to changes in workload priorities.
Top 3 Required Skills:
- Hardware Repair and Maintenance: Knowledge of hardware components and the ability to repair or replace components such as RAM, hard drives, and peripherals. Proficiency in servicing laptops and desktops.
- Operating System Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Windows Workstation 10 or 11, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with MacBook Apple iOS and Ubuntu is a plus.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
