Ewing Fabricators 1845 Inc. (“Ewing”) is one of the largest players in steel watermain and concrete pressure pipe in Canada. Originally known as John Ewing Co., Ewing Fabricators first started as a blacksmith in 1845. With a focus on custom steel and metal work, Ewing grew to become an industry leader in steel fabrication, producing numerous products for industries like oil and gas industry, steel mill and foundry, and mining and heavy civil industry.

We are currently looking for energetic entry-level and experienced people to join our exciting and fast-paced Precast team.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of tasks assigned by management as and where needed including but not limited to, smoothing and finishing freshly poured concrete, parging mortar lining to inside of pipes, building and stripping forms, chipping concrete, cleaning work areas from debris, mixing concrete, cleaning & organizing all change & work, equipment checks, cleaning preparing work areas for tasks, painting etc…

Qualifications

· High school education or equivalent

· Physically fit; able to perform bending, crouching, kneeling tasks

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. of weight

· Experience working with small tools, particularity a trowel, and power tools

· Ability to read tape measure (metric/imperial)

· Minimum 1 year experience working with concrete

· Experience operating heavy machinery/equipment an asset

· Ability to communicate clearly, read, write in English

· Must be punctual and have a strong work ethic

· Go eye to ahead to prepare/complete the next task at hand

· Takes pride in doing good quality work

· Works well in a team environment

· Has a desire to keep work areas clean and debris free

Working Conditions

· Physical Effort Required: Constant bending, standing, walking, lifting approx. 50 lbs.

· Physical Environment: Outdoor work environment which could include exposure to adverse weather conditions. Safety boots and associated PPE are required for all time spent on the floor and/or yard

· COVID-19 Precautions: Masks mandatory in indoor areas, daily temperature testing and contact tracing

Work Hours

· Full-time; 7am – 5pm Monday to Friday, non-seasonal work, overtime eligible

· Evenings, nights and weekends possible when busy

Salary

$20-$35 per hour paid based on experience and work ethic with benefits

Work Location

Facility located in Newmarket, Ontario

Equipment Required

· Must supply own CSA approved work boots

· Must have access to your own transportation
