Construction Controller
RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals interested in joining our Finance Team in this newly created role. You will play a vital role in the financial management and decision-making process in the construction elements of our business. As a leader, you are responsible for developing your team and encouraging a performance-based culture, you will need to be skilled at working collaboratively across multiple areas of the business to champion both the needs of our functional teams and our business as a whole.
This role can be performed from our office in Virden, MB or remotely.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and improve construction data collection systems and processes. Get more value out of existing investments in systems.
- Deliver continual construction cost and KPI data; monitor trends.
- Assist in construction project budgeting.
- Coordinate with other departments, including Build, Design & Engineering, Field Services, Project Management Office, and Finance.
- Track project contracts to capture costing, trigger invoicing, reporting.
- Project accounting and claiming of eligible costs with supporting information for grant programs.
- Participate in the corporate budgeting function.
- Develop and promote loss prevention strategies and policies for construction operations.
- Develop training programs and policies to help employees use construction financial systems.
- Work closely with the corporate controller to support each other and contribute to the organization’s success.
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Professional accounting designation or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field
- Management accounting skills
- Excel, NetSuite ERP, and Vitruvi telecom construction management software skills or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in a financial leadership role
- Excellent analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making.
- Experience in design and implementation of new or improved systems.
