THE POSITION:

Lighthouse Custom Homes Calgary is looking for an Estimator to join our team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for job-specific cost calculations of home, and optional extras and upgrades, as well as development and maintenance of cost database.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work with and take direction from the Operations Manager.

· Residential construction estimating for custom new homes.

· Distribute job-specific plans to trades for pricing, receive and review quotes.

· Perform material take-offs from working drawings.

· Compare price increases/decreases and review all variances between original budget and PO amounts to provide explanation and report errors/provide corrective action to prevent future duplication of variance.

· Prepare for job release to field for construction start and release job PO’s on a timely basis.

· Review customer change order requests for pricing.

· Update and maintain base model pricing and options databases.

· Communicate and liaise with trades, suppliers, architectural technologists, sales team and construction team.

REQUIRMENTS

· Previous new home construction experience would be an asset.

· Experience in computer applications such as Excel, Word, Adobe, Outlook, and Buildertrend are required.

· Knowledge of residential construction and the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

· Organized and the ability to multi-task.

· Detail oriented and goal driven.

· Self-motivated and hardworking individual who can work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision.

· Have great communication skills.
