Construction Labourer

Fowler Construction is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to perform tasks involving physical labour on one or more civil construction projects.

Key Duties:

• Clean and perform preparation of worksites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Operate equipment as required after receiving training on safe operation of any equipment used.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Clean and maintain any equipment or tools you may use.
• Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments (training will be provided).
• Receive mandatory traffic control training, control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones as required.
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications, using appropriate tools.
• Shovel and rake as required.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
• Under supervision, install sewer, water, and storm drainpipes, using pipe-laying machinery and laser guidance equipment.
• Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
• Assist co-workers and assist at other job sites when required.
• Perform demolition work and salvage useful materials if possible.
• Regularly attend safety tailgate meetings.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in construction, landscaping, roofing, or other trades is considered an asset.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work with a team.
• Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs, carry, bend, and reach.
• Punctual and available to work 50-60 hours per week.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Work Conditions:

• Travel to various sites will be required.
• Indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
• Weekend work may be required.

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• Bracebridge, ON P1L 0H7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

• construction: 1 year (preferred)
