Construction Labourer

JCC Ltd is a local long standing home building company located in Revelstoke BC. We specialize in high quality residential construction as well as commercial construction and renovation projects

We are seeking an experienced Labourer to support our team. The ideal candidates have experience in the trade and exhibit a wide variety of skills. This role is perfect for a responsible team player capable of working within a reputable company with minimal supervision.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Labourer is responsible for loading and unloading construction materials, and moving them to work areas. Installing and removing concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks and barricades at construction sites. Mixing, pouring and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.

Job Responsibilities

• Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints

• Lift heavy loads up to 70 ibs and navigate construction job site terrain

• Dig pits, trenches and foundations in preparation for job site construction

• Operate heavy machinery, including construction vehicles

• Identity utility lines

• Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job sites

• Backfill trenches and pits when necessary

• Provide labour support as needed for speciality crew

• Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles

Requirements

• Valid Certifications or Safety Tickets are preferred.

• Current, valid Driver’s License.

• High school diploma/GED

• 2+ years’ construction industry experience

• Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures

• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle

• Problem solving to increase efficiency and safety conscious.

• Physically fit; able to apply strength and endurance to tasks.

• Knowledge & experience of hand tools and power tools.
