What you’ll be doing

As the Consultant, Information Security, you will join CIBC's Identity and Access Governance team to monitor, analyze, review, and remediate access to CIBC's technology. You will support the execution of our team's mandate by defining, implementing and reporting on key metrics and other defined measurements related to business deliverables and processes. You will provide technical expertise in development and support of all activities, processes, procedures and tools used for validating and insuring the integrity of Information Security.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote

How you’ll succeed

  • Reporting and Metrics – You have the ability to analyze raw data to provide predictive and prescriptive analytics. You can identify thresholds and business rules for measuring data quality and ensure adherence with bank and regulatory standards. This includes performing specific data analysis based on business user requests and contributing to the automation of reporting requirements, the documentation for data quality & data management. You have proven experience in creating KPI, KRI, RAS, other metrics and reports, and is able to select the most suitable approach that results in providing CIBC with optimum solutions to business issues/challenges.

  • Technical Skills – You must have in depth knowledge of System Administration, including infrastructure, applications, desktops, databases, networks and protocols. You must have experience with scripting (Python a must), MS SQL DB queries and joins, Power Query, advanced Microsoft products (PowerPoint and Excel). Databricks knowledge is an asset. You have the ability to provide insight to data through visual representation like Tableau, Power BI and PowerPoint.

  • Identity Analytics and Administration – You have the ability to identify compliant or appropriate access to infrastructure and data. This includes risk analysis of current and new use cases and continuous update of documentation. You have the ability to handle client escalations and prioritize activities. You will drive the identity management and process effectiveness and follow Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes.

  • Consulting – You will be responsible for collaborating with projects and initiatives to create and execute access management for new/existing infrastructure, aligning with Identity & Access Management (IAM) initiatives and related policies, standards, and procedures to help enhance our Information Security posture. You will assist other teams in investigation of potential security incidents and provide recommendations to remediate.

  • Process Improvement – You will recommend solutions to enhance processes, eliminate risks, and improve the speed and quality of key services to our partners. You have the ability to apply appropriate tools to perform problem determination and root cause analysis; identify bottlenecks, redundancies and vulnerabilities of existing processes as they relate to identity and access management.

  • Other Skills –You can link operational activities and risks to controls and standards. You understand risk management framework to incorporate risk assessment to operational and improvement initiatives.  Hands-on experience the of following tools and application is an asset: SailPoint IdentityIQ, ServiceNow, Varonis, ARS/AD

  • You have a degree/diploma in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field experience. Knowledge of multiple infrastructure platforms such as NAS, UNIX, WINTEL, MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, AS400, Active Directory is an asset.
