JOB SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an experienced Contractor Sales Representative to join our growing team in Barrie, Ontario.

The ideal candidate has technical experience working in an industrial wood construction setting. The incumbent has excellent customer service skills with the ability to read blueprints, understand structural framing and is familiar with local building codes. A general understanding of engineered wood floor and truss systems is an asset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Customer Service Supervisor at Trans Canada, the incumbent will be responsible for managing customer orders and basic inquiries:

Track and record all incoming orders.

Inputting customer orders into the sales platform.

Oversee order completion, including when product is shipped.

Follow–up with customers to ensure product satisfaction.

Maintaining accurate record of incoming inquiries, sales, forms and requests.

Communicate product knowledge to the customer as appropriate.

Be familiar with and maintain up to date information on pricing, preparing quotations, as well as a variety of other related duties.

Keep current with practical knowledge of lumber items, including their uses, advantages, and disadvantages.

Be familiar with current yard inventory and special-order items.

Maintain product knowledge of competitors.

Perform any other duties that may be required by members of the Senior Management Team.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

5 years customer service experience (working in industrial, construction, manufacturing or lumberyard setting an asset).

Prior experience in construction industry an asset.

Understanding of structural framing.

Technical experience related to industrial wood construction.

Ability to read blueprints.

General understanding of engineered wood floor and truss systems.

Willingness to learn, grow and develop.

Strong desire to work as a team.

Self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven and demanding environment with strong attention to detail.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, prioritization and time management skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic math skills (an asset).

Strong administration skills with accuracy to detail and keeping records.

Knowledge with MS Office, namely excel and reporting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00-$29.00 per hour

Education:

• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:
