Our Armstrong Plywood Division is currently recruiting an 8-month Control Systems Student. Our Control Systems students are key contributors at our mills. Their passion for technology and appetite for new challenges gives them a fresh approach to tackling improvements. We’re looking for a Control Systems Student to join our EcoLogo-certified facility located in Armstrong, British Columbia. Our Armstrong Plywood Division safely and sustainably produces 195 million square feet of plywood every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering program.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of electrical machines.
- A passion for technology and programming.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and use own resources to find innovative solutions to new problems.
Your workday will look something like this:
- You will work on improvements to automation, controls and visualization.
- You will be driven to find solutions and look for ways to improve processes.
- You will be responsible for recommending methods to improve safety, quality, throughput, and uptime, and will provide support to electrical personnel on shift.
- You will be will be involved in industrial programming in a plywood plant.
- You will have opportunities to work closely with highly experienced Process Control personnel.
