Want the unique experience of accelerating growth of a dynamic as well as increasingly visible and impactful part of RONA? We are looking for an exceptional individual who will play a key role in driving the long-term revenue and profit growth of RONA's online businesses.

As a Digital merchandising Coordinator, you will assist the Online Merchandising team with the implementation and execution of product strategies that align with business objectives and financial goals. This role will support the Online Merchant team through a variety of tasks, including business analysis, product assortments, vendor meetings, and strategy execution.

As a Digital merchandising Coordinator, your functions will be ensure all the products available for sale are merchandised on our websites in a way that maximizes their visibility and sales.

Your role

  • Assume responsibility for a specified portion of product assortments and groups
  • Support the Merchandising teams and execute tasks to deliver on strategic objectives
  • Support the Merchandising team to implement product merchandising best practices
  • Help manage relationships and facilitate vendor interactions working closely with Merchants and Senior Merchants to run day to day vender relations
  • Perform ongoing QA on site, including navigation, search optimization, category, and product page updates, ensuring the implementation of best practices
  • Conduct customer and competitor research to build a deep understanding and best in class category merchandising
  • Analyze visitor browsing, purchasing behavior, and customer journeys across multiple channels, devices, and touchpoints, to ensure our visual communication places the customer front of mind
  • Build knowledge of categories and how customers shop the categories through extensive online research
  • Support data analysis to drive business through regular reporting and research identifying areas of opportunities in line with product and category strategies
  • Partner with their leader and cross functional partners to support website improvement initiatives
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve website content, functions, existing processes, and partner with the broader business to achieve this
  • Ensure the search and navigation of the online store is set correctly to facilitate product finding by the customers
  • Ensure product images and product description are optimized to communicate all the necessary information to the customers and optimizes product and category pages for SEO
  • Analyze the customer experience on the website through online monitoring tools and make suggestions to optimize conversion rates
  • Collaborate with the Online team for onsite optimizations such as product recommendations, upselling/cross-selling opportunities, and search improvements
  • Manage cost changes and track retail pricing online
  • Generate and analyze reports to track sales, conversions, bounce rates, AOV, Add to Cart, and Out of stock and report on key findings
  • Action promotions on the online store including coordinating vendor participation, liaison with promo pricing team, validating correct execution online, and ensuring correct price displaying on site during and post promotion
  • Oversee the fulfillment of online channel and work with the cross functional teams to ensure the flow of merchandise to customers
  • Analyze business trends and identify areas of opportunities
  • Recommend improvements to the Merchant teams
  • Help manage relationships and facilitate vendor interactions working closely with Merchants and Senior Merchants
  • Build and maintain strong understanding of the industry
  • Partner for specific category tactics and execution
  • Make product decisions for assigned product category groups if needed

The qualifications we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA, BCom) or similar
  • Proven working experience (at least 2 years) in Online Merchandising or having been exposed to in a similar role including Digital Marketing, Merchandising, Category Management or CX functions (preferably in a Retail or eCommerce environment)
  • Highly analytical including knowledge of analytical tools for performance measurement, interpretation of findings, determination of improvements and making recommendations to attain sales objectives and improve conversion
  • Passion about understanding consumer behaviour and improving customer experience
  • Experience with Web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) (preferred)
  • Abillity to multitask effectively
  • Experience working with multiple vendors
  • Skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Driven, self-starter attitude with the ability to perform in a fast paced, changing environment
