Corporate Insurance and Securities Manager
$86,200.00 - $122,100.01 annually

The Procurement, Contract and Risk Management Services (PCRMS) has overall ministry accountability for the strategic leadership, direction and governance to support the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of the Ministry’s procurement, contracting and risk management policy and practices, including coordinating and managing ministry claims and litigation.

The Corporate Insurance and Securities Manager influences the application of best practices by providing expert advice and direction to Ministry clients in insurance, securities and other risk management techniques. The position is responsible for developing and applying risk policies, procedures and methodologies to minimize financial and human loss. This includes providing direction and professional/technical expertise on risk assessment, mitigation and allocation on projects delivered through Ministry operations, including large and complex infrastructure projects; developing innovative risk solutions; preparing Insurance and security specifications, policy and other documentation. This position engages with senior management, other government officials and external stakeholders, including Insurance and bonding agencies.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Post-secondary education; training in contract, risk, Insurance and Securities management, strategies, policies and systems; or, an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Completion of the Canadian Insurance Program and/or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) or equivalent; or, hold a CRM and/or Risk/Insurance professional designation.
  • Experience with risk or contract management, insurance, and Securities requirements.
  • Experience planning, analyzing and developing policy, directives, procedural or instructional documentation.
  • Experience performing financial or risk analysis to resolve complex client issues.
  • Experience communicating with a diverse range of officials, managers, individuals and others interpreting and explaining complicated concepts.
