Job description

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing the Income tax returns and transfer pricing documentation for the Canadian legal entities
  • Responsible for the income tax and tax account reconciliations for financial reporting purposes
  • Assisting on tax audits and relationships with local tax authorities
  • Interpreting federal and provincial tax legislation to assess impact on the various lines of business
  • Preparing corporate reports related to compliance activities including, but not limited to, income tax provision risk and control reports, internal audits etc.
  • Supporting regional and Corporate Tax, finance, business and non-tax led projects.
  • Collaborating on tax accounting and compliance with oversight on adherence to the organization`s tax policies.
  • Managing relationships with external tax advisors

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business/Accounting (or equivalent degree)
  • Completion of CPA's In-Depth Tax Program would be preferable
  • Minimum 3 years of tax experience in the financial services sector
  • Expert level knowledge for various software applications such as Word, Excel, & Corporate TaxPrep
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
  • Service-oriented and ability to maintain relationships with various stakeholders
  • Work experience with one of the large accounting firms is preferred
