Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) Junior and Senior High Counsellor/Teacher at Lamont High. There will be a teaching portion assigned as well based on the skills of the candidate and needs of the school. Please include all teachable subject areas and courses in your cover letter/resume.
Lamont High serves approximately 345 students in grades 7 to 12, with 22 teaching staff and 13 support staff. The school is located in Lamont, AB, approximately 60 kilometres northeast of Sherwood Park, AB.

Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position
A master's degree in counselling and registered or provisional psychologist status is preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants presently working on a master's in this area. A minimum of five years of teaching experience, education in psychology or a related discipline with a focus on counselling, and Violent Threat Risk Assessment Training (VTRA) would be considered an asset.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Effective organization and classroom management skills
Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
Excellent verbal and written skills
Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
