Courier Driver / Owner Operator

Title:Owner Operator - Mini van/Cargo van required

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day

Anticipated Start Date (ASAP): As soon as possible

Skill Requirements: Education: Some high school

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):

Driver's Licence (Class G )

Experience: Experience an asset

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English, Speak French, Read French

Weight Handling: Up to 30 kg (60 lbs)

Specific Skills: Pick-up and deliver various items and products, Load and unload goods, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use maps and other trip planning aids, Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, # of Stops and any other required reports.

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Receive and relay information to central dispatch

Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Cellular phone, Mini van/Cargo van

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment

Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle, Valid driver's licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning, Usage of a driver scanner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Vehicle required- ½ tonne- ¾ tonne van
• Master Business License
• $2 million coverage for vehicle and liability
• $2 million coverage for general liability
• Cargo insurance in the amount of $25,000
• Class G Driver’s License
• Clean Driver’s Abstract
• Able to lift a maximum 30 kg.
• Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Extensive knowledge of Ottawa and area
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Must be bondable, clean criminal record check and clean driving record check (abstract)

Other: This is a owner/operator position, Vehicle require for route: Mini van/Cargo van. Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm Please apply only as specified

Salary: $1,200.00-$1,500.00 per week
