Cruise Ship Supervisor And Guide

Hidden Victoria Tours is looking for a head tour guide to supervise during the Cruise Ship season

Looking for someone with great leadership skills, performs well under pressure, has outstanding communication skills and is also fun and high energy

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Works well in a high pressure environment

- Natural leader with experience. Will be in charge of a team of 12 guides

- Outgoing, friendly personality, with 5 star customer service skills

- Excellent communication, and comfortable presenting to group, small talk extraordinaire

- Entertaining and engaging, with a passion for Victoria

- Good time management skills

- Quick to learn new apps on smart phone

- Extremely reliable and punctual

- Strong relationship building skills with guides, guests and vendors

- Attention to detail

General responsibilities:

- Greet guests and collect tour tickets (up to 66 in an hour with different time slots)

- Separate groups and shuffle time slots to optimize amount of guests per guide

- First to the pier, guides check in with you and you are the last guide to leave the pier with the last tour

- Conduct tours with professional commentary (training and script provided)

- Bringing guests from one establishment to another, ensuring guests are conversing with each other or with you to be entertained during the entire duration of the tour

- Thinking 2 steps ahead to ensure a smooth, on time tour. Calling harbour ferries to coordinate pick ups. Ensuring guests dietary needs are addressed

- Communication with guides during tour if needed. On completion of tour, writing owner about the experience of their shift

- Tours take place mostly Thursday (all day), Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Salary: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
