Hours of Work: 7:00am to 3:30pm (some overtime is required)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) related to cannabis cultivation including but not limited to sanitation, post-production, and processing tasks.
- Promptly report any concerns related to the health of the plants.
- Complete core cultivation tasks and duties as required, including:
- • Plant maintenance
- Taking cuttings
- Transplanting
- Trellising
- Pruning
- Harvesting
- Shucking
- Pesticide applicators certificate and capable of applying pesticides
- Cleaning grow rooms and workstations
- Maintenance, and monitoring of systems
- Responsible for accurately completing appropriate documentation and records as directed by the Master Grower and/or Management.
- Promptly report any deviations from Standard Operating Procedures to Master Grower and/or Senior Management.
- Ensure safe work procedures are being followed and report hazards and unsafe work to the Master Grower, HR or Health of Security.
- Other duties as required.
- Experience in a cultivation role with a cannabis Licensed Producer (LP), or relevant education in cannabis cultivation, or experience in commercial horticulture.
- Computer literate, able to effective use email (MS Outlook), MS Word, MS Teams, basic MS Excel.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to read and comprehend technical documents, such as SOP’s.
- Lifting up to 55 lbs. from floor to waist.
- Lifting up to 30 lbs. from waist to shoulders, and above head.
- Lifting up to 20 lbs. above head.
- Bending, crouching, squatting, sitting, pushing, kneeling for extended periods and repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Climbing ladders as required.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Working in indoor areas ranging in temperature from 17 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius.
- Occasional outdoor work all year round.
- Don and doff full-body PPE, wearing full-body PPE at all times while working.
- Working in close proximity to cannabis plants, as well being in direct contact with cannabis plants, which can trigger allergic reactions.
- Working in an environment with a strong cannabis odour.
- Handling/working with chemicals and cleaning supplies.
