Job Overview:
Columbia College is looking to fill a 3-month term-certain part-time position. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with stakeholders across various functions within the College to create, design, and implement learning solutions. The successful candidate will use a comprehensive knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, and digital learning trends to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
This position is project-driven and will have hours typically fall between 10-15 hours per week. The successful candidate will be expected to work onsite but can work remotely according to the College’s working remote policies.
Duties:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to identify the learning needs of various groups within the College.
- Design, develop, and implement engaging and effective learning solutions, including eLearning courses, facilitator-led materials, job aids, online tutorials, and assessments.
- Use best practices in instructional design and learning theory to develop learning objectives, create content that aligns with these objectives, and assess learning outcomes.
- Leverage multimedia technology and authoring tools to create compelling learning materials by an understanding and use of ISTE frameworks for facilitators and students.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, and data analysis.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in instructional design and technology and incorporate these trends into learning initiatives as appropriate.
- Manage multiple project timelines, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Instructional Design or a related role.
- Proficiency with eLearning technology.
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the higher education sector.
- Familiar with the use and implementation of the ISTE framework.
- Advanced degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) Moodle, and Communication software Microsoft Teams.
- Certification in project management.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour
