Description
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, promotion, operations, and evaluation of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, which provides free support to low-income individuals who require assistance preparing their annual CRA Income Tax forms. (See http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/volunteer/ ) The position oversees the recruitment, tax training, and scheduling of a Program Assistant and 40+ volunteers. The position integrates skills-building and financial literacy into the existing program with partner support, while establishing and monitoring a safe and welcoming tax clinic in the downtown core neighbourhood from March-May 2024. The Coordinator oversees data collection of participant demographics and financial stats. Building on existing documentation and templates, the Coordinator is also responsible for contributing to a Program-in-a-Box with manuals, templates, and other materials to enable national scalability of the program with SFBLC partners.
Terms:
* Contract, Part-Time from mid-January to July 29, 2024
* 37.5 hrs/wk from January to July 29, 2024
* Mon-Fri, with possibility of some evenings or weekends work required
* NOTE: Schedule is approximate and will be finalized with the successful applicant.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Preferred degree or diploma in human services or program coordination/management. Equivalent knowledge and experience will be considered.
* Experience working in the community sector with diverse groups, including vulnerable populations
* Proven project management experience (budget, schedule/timeline, logistics, staff & volunteer management), including 2 years supervisory experience
* Multi-tasking, time management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural awareness and understanding
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to organize work and to work independently
* Computer skills
