The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We provide open and non-discriminatory access to Alberta's interconnected power grid and also facilitate Alberta's competitive wholesale electricity market. Job Description

We are looking for two (2) Cybersecurity Analysts to join our team, with a focus on the tactical and operational aspects of Cybersecurity to ensure industry best practices are implemented & executed and that compliance regulations are met. This includes protecting all AESO Assets from physical and cyber threats, responding to potential cyber incidents and performing investigations. The Cybersecurity team monitors IT operations, rotates through an on-call schedule to immediately respond to cyber events, and reviews various alert and threat feeds to take proactive action. In this position, you will also help support self-certification and audits through evidence gathering and providing security advice on compliance status for applicable Alberta Reliability Standards CIP requirements. You will conduct security investigations, manage a variety of security tools and are strongly engaged with project teams to identify security requirements. Teamwork, collaboration & a willingness to learn at a rapid pace are essential for you to succeed.

You have:

  • Post-Secondary Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology.

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an IT discipline, with a minimum 2 years of Cybersecurity experience.

  • Must have completed, or working towards SSCP or similar intermediate cyber security certification.

  • Nice to have: CISSP, GCIH, GMON, CISA, CISM, CRSIC, CEH or other Security related certifications.
