We are looking to hire some new team members! Chuck’s Mutts is a QTBIPOC run small midtown daycare and we are seeking: patient individuals who are great self-starters and also work well in a team environment. Attention to detail and great communication skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and, of course, a love of dogs!
Daily Drivers are expected to be easy going, confident, agile easily adapting to a dynamic environment, knowledgeable and passionate about dogs and eager for ongoing learning. You will be responsible for safe operation of the company vehicle while transporting our canine clients- large and small- from their home to our daycare. You will also spend time with our dogs at our city daycare locations. A clean driving abstract, class G license and police record check are required.
You are:
- familiar and comfortable driving all over Toronto, and remain calm under pressure whilst city driving.
- able to safely operate company vehicles to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload dogs, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order
- comfortable driving/walking dogs in all kinds of weather
- able to lift dogs, and their belongings in and out of the vehicle.
- good with time management skills - we aim to always be on time for the pick ups and drop offs
- motivated, enthusiastic and reliable - reliable attendance is essential in this position.
- able to work under minimal supervision, though can also work as part of the daycare team
- Comfortable with client facing interactions
- comfortable with technology - you will be required to use scheduling software and map your driving routes, be happy to send updates/pictures to clients, and also use software to view your own work schedule.
About you:
- Must be 18+ yr old
- breed knowledge and an understanding of dog behaviours and body language.
- Full G license with a clean driving record
- Detail oriented, professional, dependable, positive attitude and a team player, but also happy to work independently.
- Adaptable, responsive and open to taking on additional tasks with a smile.
- Able to provide a police background check on acceptance of position.
- Comfortable with a physically active role able to lift 50lbs
- Past experience working at a daycare/with dogs an asset
- Access to a smartphone with data plan*
