Kelly is now seeking an experienced Data Modeler to come join a leader in the automotive manufacturing industry in Alliston Ontario. This position is a short contract role of 2 months with the possibility for extension/renewal.
Location of Work: Alliston ON
Hours of Work: 40hrs/week - nonstandard hours
Contract Duration: 02/05/2024 to 03/30/2024 - with possibility of contract renewal

GENERAL OVERVIEW:
- Create logical/physical data models data models for reporting and analysis data environment
- Obtain and translate reporting/analysis requirements and convert them into a creative, efficient data model in an agile environment. Focus is on enterprise data models
- Define & maintain BI/Data Warehouse methodologies, standards and industry best practice
- Document and diagram db systems – metadata, data dictionary, ERD diagrams, …
- Work co-operatively as part of a team, as well as independently under own initiative
- Quality assurance focus
- Works closely with Data Services Team and with the Business
- Flexible and creative to support a newly developing data services area
- Participate in HCM Change Management processes
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 4 years BI/DWH
- 2 years Data Analysis as well as 5 years Data Modeling
- Fluent in all aspects of data architecture, modeling and programming
- Experience working independently as an Application Data Modeler and/or Business Analyst where the majority of time was spent analyzing business data requirements
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and document business data requirements in complete, accurate, flexible logical/physical data models for reporting and analysis data environment
- Able to facilitate discussions between small groups of IT and business people, recognize issues of conflict and inconsistency between data requirements and pursue a resolution of these issues
- Experience with DB2 and SQL Server data architecture
- Strong understanding of requirements gathering, modeling techniques & methodologies, testing & validation
- Experience with Microsoft Office, ErWin, SQL
- General knowledge of Windows, AIX
- Knowledge of ETL software
- Fluent in English
- Strong skills in the areas of communication, problem analysis, delivery on results, self-development, adaptability and flexibility, enterprise perspective, strong time management and organizational skills
- Flexible in work hours (at least 40 hours per week but will have to work non-standard shifts and/or weekends for implementations or problem resolution)
