Dental Receptionist

Dentistry on the Commons is a small family owned practice. We are located on Windsor St. in Halifax. We are currently looking for receptionist to join our team 3-5 days per week.

We offer on site parking, competitive pay, and do not work evenings/weekends at this time. We are looking for someone who is personable, a team player, and has experience in the dental field.

Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the dental office
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments for patients
- Verify insurance coverage and collect patient information
- Assist with billing and payment processing
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Coordinate referrals to specialists as needed
- Manage the front desk area and ensure a clean and organized office environment

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a dental or medical office setting preferred
- Proficiency in Abeldent or other dental practice management software
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and dental procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with phone systems and handling patient inquiries at the front desk

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $18.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
