CGA EI Overview

CGA Enterprises Inc. (CGA EI) is a for-profit Canadian corporation, wholly owned by the Canadian Gas Association, a Canadian not-for-profit corporation. Under CGA EI, there are five entities that the Deputy Director would be working with: the Canadian Energy Partnership for Environmental Innovation (CEPEI), the Canadian Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance (CNGVA), Council for a Secure Energy Future and two significant global events, LNG2023 and IGRC2024.

About the Canadian Gas Association

CGA is an Ottawa-based national trade association representing Canada's gaseous energy delivery industry. CGA EI engages stakeholders and focuses on initiatives across the full gas value chain.
Our members are natural gas utilities, transmission companies and suppliers to the industry.
CGA members serve two-thirds of Canada's population with gaseous energy and deliver 38% of Canada's energy.
CGA/CGA EI has a staff of approximately 22 people.

Position Summary

This full time Ottawa based position will report directly to the CGA Vice President, Strategy and Delivery while supporting the communications/marketing and social media needs of the Executive Directors of the Canadian Energy Partnership for Environmental Innovation (CEPEI), the Canadian Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance (CNGVA), Council for a Secure Energy Future and the global events LNG2023 and IGRC2024, in cooperation with CGA's Communications team. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communications skills and experience.

Job Requirements

? Support the Executive Directors of CNGVA, CEPEI, Council for a Secure Energy Future, LNG2023 and IGRC2024 in achieving their communications and marketing objectives through website and social media management, supporting the execution of communication strategies, drafting press releases, briefing notes, presentations, and other communications products including:

Developing market segmented materials for global conference to target the right audience.
Drafting and reviewing promotional materials and articles.
Preparing articles and op-eds to be published on various websites.
Leading communications activities for relevant webinars or launches (e.g. papers, events, etc).
Preparing and executing social media campaigns on Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
Preparing branded articles for various other publications.
Preparing promotional articles.
Liaising with internal communications teams to ensure content is consistent with the overall broader advocacy and communications strategy.
Developing distribution lists of key stakeholders using Salesforce.
Ensuring that all communications and marketing benefits promised in sponsorship packages are delivered (e.g., IGRC2024).
Reporting on a regular basis to the Executive Directors on adherence to timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

Must be knowledgeable in communications, marketing, social media and event coordination.
Must be able to organize multiple tasks and prioritize demands.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and technical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Well organized, detail oriented, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with team motivation while taking initiative and working with minimum supervision.
Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, or a related field.
Experience, or familiarity, with energy markets would be an asset.
Bilingual English/French considered an asset.
A minimum of five to seven years of professional experience.
Must be eligible to work in Canada legally.

Work conditions: CGA offers a flexible mix of virtual work and office work in CGA's downtown Ottawa office space at 350 Albert Street, Suite 1220. Currently, we have a two day/week working in the office, three day/week working remotely (with an ?allhands? day every Wednesday) policy.
