Development Miner

Position Overview

Reporting to the Development Supervisor, the Development Miner is responsible for:

• Preparing faces, drill load, blast drift/ramp rounds and services
• Installing ground control support systems which include rock bolts, rebar, swellex and screen
• Working off of mechanized bolting platforms, staging, scissor lifts or muck piles as required
• Loading, hauling, dumping and leveling off muck as required
• Other duties as required including haulage truck and stope mucking when required
• Schedules include days/afternoons and night shift

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

• Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core
• At least 2 years underground experience
• Tolerance for working at depth in warm conditions
• Appropriate development licensing including: Mechanized Bolter, Emulsion Loader and Jumbo
• Experience on any of the following equipment: scooptrams, tractors, pipe and vent installation and underground services vehicles would be an asset
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
