Position Overview
Reporting to the Development Supervisor, the Development Miner is responsible for:
- Preparing faces, drill load, blast drift/ramp rounds and services
- Installing ground control support systems which include rock bolts, rebar, swellex and screen
- Working off of mechanized bolting platforms, staging, scissor lifts or muck piles as required
- Loading, hauling, dumping and leveling off muck as required
- Other duties as required including haulage truck and stope mucking when required
- Schedules include days/afternoons and night shift
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have:
- Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core
- At least 2 years underground experience
- Tolerance for working at depth in warm conditions
- Appropriate development licensing including: Mechanized Bolter, Emulsion Loader and Jumbo
- Experience on any of the following equipment: scooptrams, tractors, pipe and vent installation and underground services vehicles would be an asset
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
