Purpose

As the Consumables Product Line leader, you will play a pivotal role shaping and executing growth strategies and optimizing the profitability of our ~$110M Consumables business, helping to position PerkinElmer as a leader in the Consumables market and managing the entire product management lifecycle. You will be the pivotal leader responsible for Consumables growth & profitability, strategically developing and enhancing sales channels, developing strategic partnerships, and working with ecommerce and aftermarket sales teams to maximize market penetration, and profitably grow volumes.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive growth strategies for the consumables division, with a specific emphasis on sales channel expansion, including ecommerce, service, and aftermarket sales teams.
  • Product Management Excellence: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to end-of-life, driving product management excellence by collaborating with cross-functional teams to align strategies with market demands and customer needs.
  • Sales Channel Development: Partner with commercial leaders to strategically develop, implement, and optimize sales processes to drive market penetration, increase revenue, and enhance customer experience across ecommerce platforms and aftermarket sales channels.
  • Innovation and Portfolio Enhancement: Champion innovation within the product portfolio, identifying opportunities for new product development, enhancements, and modifications based on market trends and customer feedback.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and alliances to expand the company's consumables portfolio and drive revenue growth through various sales channels.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis, competitive assessments, and customer segmentation to identify emerging trends and opportunities for sales channel expansion, new products and growth.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, industry influencers, and partners, to drive business growth and identify collaboration opportunities within sales channels.
  • Sourcing & Procurement: Work with procurement team to help source suppliers, set product requirements, support negotiations, manage vendors, and drive cost improvement.
  • Financial Management: Take accountability for the financial performance of the Product Line, including cost capacity planning for production, setting global base price, monitoring price performance, and ensuring profitability.
  • Collaboration & execution: Work with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, marketing, logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain to identify & implement strategic initiatives that support customer needs and market opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, chemistry, biology); a master's degree or Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in product management leadership within the Med Tech, Life Sciences, or a consumables intensive business.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, market expansion, e-commerce and successful sales channel development initiatives at a strategic leadership level for a Consumables Product Line.

  • Strong leadership qualities with demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring commercial teams to achieve strategic sales and growth goals.
  • Proven ability to identify, launch, and drive cross-functional initiatives to successful completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
