Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

The Director, Digital Experience plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and profitability of the Individual line of business by developing and executing the Digital Experience strategy that supports our objectives and goals. This role spearheads the drive for industry leading client and partner Digital Experiences for our individual insurance business.

What you will be doing:
- Acts as a thought leader on emerging digital business models and technologies, articulating the digital future and our role in it internally and externally
- Establish the Digital Experience vision for Individual, architect the Digital Experience roadmap
- Execute on that vision and roadmap with direct reports and partner teams across the organization including Technology
- Set and monitor key performance indicators for our Digital Experiences
- Engage with external partners and clients directly to understand their needs
- Stay on top of current and emerging digital trends, bringing new and innovative ideas to elevate our client and partner Digital Experiences. Builds and maintains external relationships with industry bodies, vendors, technology analysts, and academia to learn and influence.
- Work closely with leaders in Operations, Marketing, Product Develop, Sales, Actuarial and Finance, ensuring front end Digital Experiences align with and support back-office functions
- Act as key stakeholder for the Individual elements of corporate/enterprise digital properties
- Align with both Group Benefits and Savings and Retirement Insurance to ensure consistent delivery of Digital Experiences and leverage cross-divisional opportunities where appropriate
- Participate in the development of Individual Division strategy, annual plans and help prioritize planned and unplanned initiatives.
- Build and develop talent and teams, coach and develop others, responsible for all aspects of team member performance management - feedback, recognition, employee engagement, performance improvement, career development
What you will bring:
- Proven success leading Digital Experience teams and/or digital transformations
- Strong experience with Human Centered Design and/or Design Thinking
- Strong experience with client journey mapping
- Deep experience with Agile ways of working
- Experience coaching, leading, and developing Product Owners, Business Analysts, and UX/CX designers/analysts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists
- Strong business acumen, including domain-specific knowledge of the wealth/investments and/or life insurance industry
