Purpose
As a Director you will lead and oversee Service Management Technology for Scotiabank and partner with key stakeholders and executives to create and execute a comprehensive enterprise vision and strategy for IT Service Management across Scotiabank. You will ensure excellence in delivery and operations for the Service Management Technology scope including compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. In this role you will be responsible for delivering all business capabilities related to Service Management Technology, example but not limited to Platform governance, strategy, and delivery, product architecture and engineering.
Accountabilities
- Owns the overall strategy, execution, and governance for Scotia Service Now platform and the Enterprise Service Management Technology including platform architecture, development, and operations.
- Develops, articulates, and champions vision, purpose and strategy for the Service Management Technology team, and the platform(s) they own.
- Partners with executive stakeholders to define platform roadmap and determine strategic direction, produce shared outcomes, and create initiatives, business cases, projects and plans that are aligned with partner and enterprise goals, and result in measurable outcomes.
- Leads and manages ServiceNow vendor relationship including contract negotiation, ongoing performance management, and ensuring third party standards are met. Escalates enterprise concerns to vendor. Acts as the primary point of contact for ServiceNow in Scotiabank
- Ensures system reliability and effectiveness including currency, risk, and compliance. Is accountable for all Scotia Service Now platform incidents, outages, and execution of upgrades and patching strategy.
- Coaches and directs a team of senior technology leader as they implement the strategy in their respective areas of accountability. As a leader of leaders, the Director invests in his team's people capabilities.
- Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Education and Experience
- 7+ years creating and implementing strategic plans and roadmaps for enterprise-wide business initiatives.
- 7+ years of experience of enterprise IT implementations
- 7+ years of experience in leading ServiceNow or other SaaS platforms.
- Excellent knowledge of ServiceNow best practices and ongoing knowledge of ServiceNow roadmap and latest feature/functionality
- Deep industry and best practice knowledge (ITIL) and proven expertise in ITSM implementation and improvement
- Full understanding of the Agile approach
- Strategic effectiveness and executive presence
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate and communicate and present effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
