Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Global STIR Business in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


What You'll Do:

  • Market Maker in STIR Derivative products including Swaps, Futures, FX FWDS and XCCY Swaps for our sales staff and customer base through a variety of different channels, including voice and electronic streams, ensuring a diligent customer focus within the risk appetite of the business and the bank
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Provide appropriate market color and information internally to the broader sales team, in addition to have a proper understanding of market functioning, liquidity and specific dynamics of Foreign Exchange markets globally
  • Deep understanding of Global Macro and Microeconomic factors that influence the Global STIR markets
  • Understanding of pre-established market risk limits and desk position limits to ensure all risks are understood and within the appetite of the GFX business and specific desk
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.


What You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Quantitative/Business field and/or relevant work experience
  • 5+ Years in a Market Making role with proven revenue track record.
  • CFA designation a benefit
  • Experienced in Foreign Exchange and STIR Derivative products.


Work Arrangement:

This position is currently an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work four days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
