Brief Overview:
Metis NationSaskatchewan Child and Family Services (CFS) strives to provide a life of quality, well-being, caring, and healing for all our children and families in our Metis communities. This position will be responsible for creating a service model that is Metis distinct and respects the values of Metis people, their extended families, and their right to self-determination. Through the integration of holistic, culturally based prevention services that are child centered, family focused, and community driven, the intent is working with families to not become a part of the Child Welfare systems and services.
This position will involve working directly with the MNS CFS staff and MN-S Citizens to develop a prevention and intervention model and services that understand relationships in the areas of, but not limited to, Kinship, Children in Care, Resources, Jordans Principle funding, Adoption/Permanency Planning, Customary Care, and in accordance with the prescribed guidelines and regulations of the Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act (CYFEA).
Key Responsibilities:
As Director of Child and Family Services, you possess a strong background in managerial, social work, and child welfare.
Provide active management and support to a team of internal professionals, peers at provincial management, and related governmental departments with the Mtis childs best interest as top consideration.
