What You’ll Do
-Establish a team which is responsible for the systems ownership of Fenergo, GBM’s client onboarding system, from a business perspective. Includes the development of a long-term vision for Fenergo and associated tools, vendor relationship management and product development, “business as usual” maintenance and 1st line support functions after system upgrades, audit support, regular reviews of user access controls.
-Responsible for proactively ensuring Onboarding Systems (Fenergo and others as required) remain in line with regulatory expectations, in particular adequate recordkeeping, and data quality. In the long term, the team will also look to develop Fenergo and other technology solutions to promote efficiency of onboarding processing times and client experience.
-Assess the need for and progressive establishment of core data governance controls within GBM Onboarding
-Lead the GBM Onboarding Reporting & Analytics function, in particular working closely with the GBM Onboarding team and other stakeholders to understand key business, AML/KYC and regulatory objectives and identify analytics that will provide insight/transparency, enable decision making, and support key regulatory initiatives.
-Codify best practices and identify opportunity to enhance reporting processes to drive effective and efficient reporting implementation. Develops appropriate tools, engages with technology to champion onboarding metrics and reporting related automation.
-Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
-Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
-Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
-Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
 
What You’ll Bring
 
-At least ten years of financial services experience. Preference will be given to direct experience dealing with systems that have regulatory compliance implications and prior experience managing large technology vendor relationships.
-An in depth understanding of capital market operations and trade lifecycle expertise and working familiarity with the corporate and investment banking business.
-A working understanding of AML/KYC regulatory standards and processes in GBM jurisdictions
-Sound judgment in identifying risks to proactively escalate with relevant senior management.
-Professionalism, sensitivity, and discretion required, including stringent confidentiality requirements.
 
Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
