What is the opportunity?
As a Director, Relationship Management – Corporate Client Group, you will contribute to and draw upon the global expertise and resources of Canada's largest financial institution to tailor financial solutions to assist clients in meeting their strategic objectives.
You will provide ideas and advice that will achieve client’s shareholder value objectives focusing on:
Capital structure
Banking services
Growth strategy (organic and acquisitions)
Risk management
Maximizing RBC revenue/client with a particular focus on improving penetration of banking and capital market services
Work closely with Corporate Client Group CCG Finance to ensure proper risk oversight
Coordinate client coverage activity to ensure RBC partners and product specialists are appropriately engaged with client to provide solutions
Lead Deal Teams to ensure effective execution
Achieve and exceed new client acquisition and market share targets
Ensure each client has appropriate coverage at Owner, CEO, CFO, Treasurer and Board level
What will you do?
Develop a strategic understanding of Company’s business model, market position and growth/divestiture plans. Understand opportunities and risks that will impact business performance
Develop a mutual understanding of client needs for creation, protection and realization of shareholder value. Achieve and maintain position as a trusted Financial Advisor
Work closely with Corporate Client Finance team to ensure proper risk oversight
Originate new clients for Corporate Client Group
Develop and implement, working closely with RBC partners, robust strategies for each client and prospect, to meet identified needs, pitch ideas and maximize revenue and return on Equity (“ROE”)
Ensure appropriate senior coverage with Managing Director, Relationship Management CCG
Create and deliver a superior/full customer experience to each client through careful pre-call research and planning, a ‘consulting’ approach, and regular client relationship reviews. Relationship reviews to be conducted at least annually for each client including a meeting with Ownership/Senior Executives and incorporating a detailed relationship summary
Monitor progress against client strategies regularly with partners and clients, evaluating success against revenue targets, and taking action as required
Complete weekly/monthly sales and market reports
What do you need to succeed?
MBA, CPA or CFA combined with a Degree in Business, Economics or Finance
10+ years’ experience in Corporate Lending and/or Corporate Finance, Commercial Banking
Analytical and technical skills and ability to quickly assess capital structure and financial requirements
Highly developed EQ and ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with a sales and marketing orientation
Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities while working for multiple people
Commitment to task and attention to detail
