What is the opportunity?

As Director, you are a One RBC market leader who leads a best-in-class Trade Finance Solutions team to maximize RBC’s position in the market and bring the best of RBC to businesses, their owners and their employees. You are accountable and take ownership for Trade Finance Solutions results in client experience, business performance, portfolio quality, and employee engagement. You hold your team accountable to their mandate and goals and to executing market strategies in their respective markets

What will you do?

  • Ensure the team proactively plans for, and has meaningful contact using Practice Management principals to understand client needs, changing circumstance and ongoing satisfaction with RBC
  • Promote digital enablement through your team by being an advocate for ensuring clients are set up to leverage digital solutions for themselves and their business
  • Ensure the team is always listening for, pursuing and referring acquisition opportunities for Business Financial Services (BFS) by focusing the team on growing client relationships through discovery and collaborating with BFS to build and execute on a strategy to capture market share and accelerate growth
  • Build strong product acumen within the team that translates into advice based recommendations for a range of product and service solutions that include Beyond Banking opportunities and cross partnering activities
  • Follow and coach to Practice Management playbooks for sales routines, market and portfolio planning, and client interactions to succeed individually and as a team
  • Monitor activities and outcomes bi- weekly, monthly and quarterly to identify items to refine and celebrate successes. Proactively prepare for coaching meetings and reviews leveraging performance reporting and synergy SCM dashboard for insights
  • Ensure your team members know their client, know the transactions, risk structure and client strategy and these elements are well documented; coach to identified gaps
  • Maximize the use of technology (Synergy, CPM, Pipeline Report, Sales Reports, etc.), maintain data integrity and documentation of all relevant information

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Three or more years of direct people leadership experience
  • Three or more years of experience working with Trade Finance Products
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and inspire others to stretch and grow
  • Previous experience working with business credit

Nice-to-have

  • Post-graduate education or certification in business or finance
  • Ability to work in both official languages in Canada
