What is the opportunity?
The Director, Wholesale Financial Resource Advisory will be responsible for the optimization of Financial Resources is one of the key focus areas for the Capital Markets and Treasury Services businesses. With restrictive limits and stringent regulatory requirements becoming increasingly critical, the ability to manage and optimize scarce Financial Resources such as capital, funding, and liquidity while balance strategic growth initiatives is vital to business strategy.
This is a key unit of the Capital Markets and Treasury Services Performance Management team which provides strategic planning and forecasting around the usage and optimization of key Financial Resources such as Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), Leverage Exposure, Funding, and Liquidity.
This role will appeal to individuals who want to work in an area with significant visibility and high profile across RBC (especially in Wholesale businesses), who have an appetite for working in a forward looking and innovative environment, developing new resource management capabilities, and advising on key business decisions.
What you will do?
- Act as the lead and subject matter expert for all balance sheet, capital, funding and liquidity activities balancing between forecasting, planning, reporting, analysis, and optimization activities.
- Lead the production and development of performance management materials to be presented at key governance forums with key business leaders across Capital Markets and Treasury Services to drive tactical and strategic decisions on the maximization of resources and deployment of those resources across business units and market opportunities.
- Act as a key point of contact between Capital Markets front office, Treasury Services front office, Group Risk Management, Corporate Treasury, and other functional areas.
- Analyze business transactions for impact to Financial Resources and assess competitiveness of economics as well as alignment to the overall strategy of the franchise.
- Responsible for the design and implementation of balance sheet forecasting and planning that align with the firm's risk appetite while balancing profitability objectives.
- Manage new and changes to current regulatory standards to ensure they are properly reflected in all forecasting and planning of Financial Resources.
What you need to succeed?
Must Have
- CPA or CFA or Finance MBA
- Detailed understanding of Capital Markets industry and products
- 7+ yearsexperience in capital management, liquidity and funding management
- Strong understanding of bank structure including risk management and treasury concepts
- Strong forecasting, planning and reporting experience including best practices of process management
