Job Title: Dishwasher
Department: Restaurant, Back of House
Reporting To: Executive Chef
Job Description:
As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in our restaurant by ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are washed, sanitized, and properly stored. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and success of our kitchen operations.
Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using manual or automatic dishwashing equipment.
- Ensure that all washed items are properly sanitized and stored in designated areas.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of garbage within sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including cleaning of sinks, dish racks, and floors.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling and chopping vegetables, as needed.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of kitchen waste and cleaning chemicals.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including temperature control and hygiene practices.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operation of the dishwashing area.
- Assist with other cleaning and maintenance tasks in the kitchen as directed by the Executive Chef or management.
Requirements:
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is an asset.
