Dishwasher/Kitchen Hand

Reporting to the Executive Chef/ Sous Chefs (kitchen supervisors), our Dishwashers are responsible for maintaining the kitchen area, ensuring that clean equipment is always available for the use of the kitchen staff and doing other cleaning duties as requested.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Setting up the dishwashing area and running the dishwashing machine.

- Keeping the dishwashing area clean and organized.

- Ensuring that clean dishes are always available and put away.

- Completing cleaning jobs outlined as assigned by the kitchen supervisors.

- Emptying and cleaning garbage and recycling containers.

- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and abiding by all Health Authority safety guidelines.

- Assisting kitchen teammates on an as-needed basis.

- Sweep or scrub floors
- Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment
- Assist kitchen staff with food preparation and cooking tasks as needed

Knowledge:

- Experience in commercial restaurant or bakery settings is an asset.

- Foodsafe Certificate

Skills and Qualifications Required:

- Organization.

- Time management.

- Communication.

- Self-motivation.

- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from others

Occupational Requirements:

- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.

- Must be able to bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs.

- Must be able to start as early as 7 AM.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
