Woof! Dog Shop & Daycare is currently seeking a new full time Woof! Daycare Team Member. Woof! has been operating our Dog Daycare, shop & grooming facility at Bloor West for over 10 years and our day camp hiking & boarding farm property for 5 years. We are blessed with an amazing group of clients, a family atmosphere and a place where we pride ourselves on our staff enjoying coming into work everyday.
Staff are trained in all things 'dog' and to keep every day interesting, staff rotate into different roles throughout the day to keep staff stimulated & engaged. We are a non-hierarchy company, everyone is treated equally and everyone pitches in in all areas (even the owner), it makes for a much more supportive, fun and relaxed work environment.

Ideal Candidate:
An ideal Woof! team member is someone who is well spoken, has good communication skills, is comfortable working with a team, is confident, reliable and is able to handle high stress situation with a calm authority. Candidates must also be comfortable spending time outdoors (all seasons), not afraid to get a little dirty and enjoy spending time with dogs of all sizes and breeds.
All attendants must have their G2/G license and clean driving record. All G2 licensed drivers must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience for shuttle shifts (shuttle provided by Woof!).
Job Description:
Woof! staff rotate between roles through out the day. Staff are given an extensive amount of training in all areas.
- City Daycare: Assisting with dog intakes, overseeing play groups in daycare rooms & back yard, maintaining safe play etc, updating pet behavioral and health notes, doing daily walks (solo or pairs only, we have a backyard, big groups don't happen), cleaning and maintaining of the daycare spaces.
- Front Desk: Assisting clients with appointment reservations, answering phones & emails, shop sales, service inquiries and checking clients in and out of daycare, boarding and grooming appointments.
- Farm Day Camp: Picking up day camp dogs and driving them out to our 50 acre farm. Taking dogs for off leash hikes and assisting in overseeing play in our indoor/outdoor enclosed play area.
- Shuttle: Operating one of the Woof! shuttles to pick up and drop off dogs within our shuttle zones or for Country Day Camp.
Shift tasks will vary through out the week, some shifts will be city daycare only, others will be farm shifts.
Hours & Shifts: Approximately 39 hours per week (Three 12 hour shifts and one paid on call)
- Monday through Friday Shifts: 7am to 7pm (Plus one paid on call shift)
- Occasional Saturdays shifts: 9am to 5pm (if desired)
- No Sunday Shifts
Shift combos break down into Three 12 hr shifts and an one 3 hour (extended if another staff member calls in sick) paid on call shift. We try and leave scheduling flexible for our staff!
Training: Staff are given on the job (paid) dog behavior and handling training for approximately 2 weeks (depending on experience and natural skill level) and another 2 weeks of systems and procedures etc.
Requirements: (previous Dog Daycare experience is not required).
- G2 or G License and a clean driving record
- Must be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week plus one on call
