Drafting Technician

Wabash Mfg. Inc. is a Custom Equipment Manufacturing company located in Westlock, AB and is looking for a full-time Drafting Technician .

Position Accountabilities:

• Create Operator and Maintenance manuals
• Organize and file documents such as change orders, shop drawings, etc
• Perform nesting of parts for CNC cutting
• Operate engraving equipment and designing professional labels
• Answer questions concerning drawings and project details
• Manage & communicate ongoing changes/reprints to Project Managers
• Ensure accuracy of final drawings & complete As-Builts when necessary
• Communicate and cooperate with all internal & external departments
• Assist current Technicians with various duties

Required Skills and Experience:

• Diploma or degree in Drafting or Architectural Technologies or equivalent of related education & industry work experience.This is not, nor will it lead to an engineering opportunity
• Training and experience using Inventor & AutoCad
• Positive Attitude
• High level of attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Research skills and ability to assemble a clean, professional presentation
• Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Ability to multi-task & manage time efficiently
• Must have a valid AB Driver's License
• Hands on shop/practical experience an asset
• Experience using MS Visual Basic would be an asset
• Fluent English communication and able to work in Canada immediately (foreign worker paperwork will not be completed)
