Drafting Technician/Project Management

Reporting to the Drafting Supervisor, you will be responsible for using drafting programs(Solidworks, Tekla) to prepare drawings for everything we build in the shop. Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed drawings of beams, columns, girts, joists, stairs, handrails and connections
• Checking drawings for detail and accuracy
• Provide fabrication with cut lists and CNC data files for the fabrication process
• Create models of small miscellaneous items
• Ensure compliance with CISC standards, CWB codes and OH&S legislation where applicable
• Prioritize, organize and maintain assigned projects to maintain set schedules
• Identify and assist in the facilitation of continual improvement processes in support of company goals

Qualifications

• Previous drafting experience
• Previous experience using Tekla and Solidworks
• Graduate of an Engineering Design and Drafting program or equivalent is an asset
• Experience is an asset but we are willing to train on the job
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
• Must have strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly
• Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as needed
• Local or willing to relocate
• Must be eligible to work in Canada. Currently, we are unable to sponsor international candidates.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

• Active participation in company safety program
• Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures and practices
