Vold Jones & Vold Auction Co. Ltd. is hiring a Controller to oversee the accounting responsibilities of its Operations in Ponoka, Alberta.
Overview
The Controller is responsible for the financial management and control of the accounting functions of the organization. They support the administration team and work collaboratively with all functions of our business. This position is responsible for the financial and management reporting, budget and forecasting, and internal controls.
Responsibilities and Duties
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
- Manage the finance & loans program
- Support the accounting functions within the office
- Oversee the accounting and prepare monthly reporting for management
- Prepare monthly Bank Packages
- Oversee all aspects of Financial Accounting
FORECASTING AND MODELLING
- Manage the planning and budgeting process
- Maintain and amend custom cash flow forecasts for the owners
- Identify financing requirements
- Submit monthly reporting packages and covenant calculations
COMPLIANCE
- Manage all income tax and GST examinations and audits from CRA
- Oversee annual filing and of Tax Slips (T4, T5, etc.)
- Prepare margin reporting and cashflow review
CORPORATE PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND INTERNAL CONTROLS
- Oversee Payroll Process with support from HR Administrator
- Identify and recommend continued projects for improving practices within the office
- Oversee execution of controls and internal tasks throughout the year
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- CPA designation preferred
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a team
- Experience in Financial Reporting, Compliance, Payroll, Management Reporting
- Be flexible and adaptable, being able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Familiarity with Sage Software & Microsoft Office suite will be beneficial
